Score 16/20 · Drink 2012-2019, Jancis Robinson MW, May 2014

Tense, slightly raisiny, dusty nose with less bvious fruit and fluidity than its Rosso di Montalcino 2004 stablemate. Decidedly dry and bitter on the end.I'm not sure this will ever be as well balanced as the Rosso!  Even though it is probably more ambitious. Too much oak? (JR)

Score 92/100 · Drink 2013-2024, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jun 2009

The 2004 Brunello di Montalcino Vigneto Manachiara is the richest and darkest of these wines. This too is a fairly intense, fruit-driven style of Brunello that can be enjoyed for the integrity of its gorgeous black fruit or cellared. Today the wine displays exceptional harmony and balance, with a long, polished finish.
