The 2020 Ried Grub 1ÖTW offers a clear, refined and detailed, very elegant and balanced bouquet of ripe fruits and finely weathered rocks that give a flinty tone. On the palate, this is a saline, tightly woven and very elegant Grub Veltliner with fine and stimulating phenolic grip and salinity. This is an excellent Grub again, and it already drinks very well, although I would cellar it for another year or two. This is a superb wine to have with freshwater fish for example. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in September 2022.

Loess. Aromas of summer lily, wet grass and apple peel. Plenty of spice on the refreshing palate, offset by ripe Williams pear and quince. Good balance, and well behaved with a mild, drying texture and a heady finish. (PS)
Tons of orange-zest, white-chocolate and fresh-herbs aromas pull you into this expressive gruner veltliner that marries richness and elegant acidity neatly. With more complexity at the finish this would rate even higher. Drink or hold.
