The 2021 Château Rollan De By is mostly Merlot yet incorporated 10% each of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. It has a solid array of blue fruits, violets, and exotic flower notes in a more perfumed, lifted, medium-bodied style. It's well made.

The 2021 Rollan de By offers simple brambly red fruit mixed with sous-bois and tobacco on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, and again, missing some complexity and rather static on the finish.
An impressive effort in a challenging vintage, the 2021 Rollan de By reveals aromas of sweet berries, spices, loamy soil and toasty new oak, followed by a medium-bodied, fleshy and seamless palate. Round and charming, this will drink well out of the gates.
