The 2020 Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru feels a little disjointed on the nose. There's a bit more volatility here; lightly oily, almost petrol scents emerge from the glass with aeration. The palate is concentrated, perhaps with a tiny bit of botrytised fruit? Viscous in texture with moderate complexity, it needs a little more tension towards the powerful, almost ostentatious finish. Perhaps time will calm it down? I'd have liked more subtlety. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
