Score 89/100 · Drink 2018-2024, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2017

Pale, light yellow. White peach and licorice on the nose; comes across as a bit heavier than the village wine. Plump and sweet, showing decent lift but a slightly aggressive character to the yellow peach and apricot flavors. This is 14.3% natural alcohol due to the small yield here. More typically 2015 in style than the village wine and less complex.

Unusually light on the nose for this producer – and a bit sweet on the end. Disappointing. Though could do the trick in flight? (JR)

Expressive aromas and flavors of pear and spices. Less fat and sweet than the Puligny villages but still in an essentially round style in spite of the unabsorbed CO2. Finishes fresh and firm if a bit youthfully aggressive.
