The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chaumées wafts from the glass with aromas of honeyed pear, peach and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, pillow and racy, it exhibits a nice balance between freshness and maturity.

A 1998 planting, the first grapes to be picked. Mid lemon yellow. Super-ripe nose, honeydew melon and honeysuckle. Peaches too, a bit exaggerated. It is actually very charming, but less classical. The finish does not go soft however, so the wine holds together nicely. Peach and grenadine notes.

From a 0.19ha parcel of the Domaine's youngest vines planted in 2001 and 2004, the 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chaumées has a straightforward citrus-fresh, slightly floral bouquet with hints of orange pith. The palate is mineral-driven with greater depth than the La Platière, linear and focused with an elegant finish, a light brush of pear on the aftertaste.
