The 2020 Trittenheimer Apotheke Riesling Auslese offers a pure, refined and flinty bouquet of ripe and healthy fruits with notes of honey and caramelized apple. Very sweet and slightly oaky on the palate, this is an elegant, refined and stimulatingly salty Apotheke Auslese that is far too young to drink (and judge) but is worth studying over decades. I wouldn't drink it before 15-20 years but also wouldn't fear the wine could be dead by then. It won't be. 7.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in May 2022.

Exotic aromas of papaya and mango beguile the nose without going OTT. A hint of lanolin reflects the ripeness of the fruit. Rich in texture and generous in flavour, but never cloying. The sweet fruit is luscious, refined by a subtle raisiny accent and well-balanced by ripe acidity. Delicious. (MS)
