The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Caillerets 1er Cru has a fresh bouquet with lime and orange pith, similar to Philippe Colin's Les Demoiselles. However, I would have liked more terroir expression. The palate is crisp on entry with a dab of sour lemon commingling with subtle peachy notes that fortunately remain in the background, allowing the terroir to come through on the finish. Very fine, even if it just misses an intellectual aspect. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Caillerets 1er Cru is composed and harmonious with fresh Nashi pears and citrus peel on the nose, quite mineral-driven and open. The palate is well balanced with more concentration than any of Bouzereau's white cuvées, with plenty of substance on the finish and great length. Superb.
