Morlet's 2022 Pinot Noir Coteaux Nobles comes from the same ranch as his Ma Douce Chardonnay, just at a slightly lower elevation. From nearly 30-year-old vines, it's open, floral and spicy, with lovely scents of potpourri, raspberries and cherries on the nose. In the mouth, it's medium to full-bodied, rich and opulent, with terrific concentration and a plush, silky finish that perhaps carries a touch of warmth.

A deep ruby/purple-tinged hue, the 2022 Pinot Noir Coteaux Nobles comes from the Fort Ross-Seaview appellation, on the second ridge from the ocean in Sonoma, with a northeastern exposure. In the glass, it’s vibrant and layered with spices, with notes of wild raspberries, crushed flowers, peppercorn, and cedar. It has more richness on the palate, but it retains a pure feel, with a refined, velvety texture. It’s quite appealing and may be ready to drink a touch sooner, but I wouldn't be in a hurry. Drink 2025-2040. 175 cases were produced.
