Score 92+/100 · Drink 2018-2025, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2016

The 2013 Pinot Noir Estate Scallop Shelf the most closed of the three Peay estate Pinots. Firm beams of tannin and bright, salivating acidity are front and center today. It will be interesting to see if the Scallop Shelf opens up with more time in bottle. Today, it is a bit narrow.

Score 91+/100 · Drink 2016-2025, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan 2015

The 2013 Pinot Noir Estate Scallop Shelf is quite floral and lifted at this stage, with expressive aromatics and good overall balance. Crushed raspberries and rose petal contribute to the wine's red-toned profile. Today the mid-palate is a bit lacking in depth, but if the 2013 fleshes out in bottle may merit a higher score.
