Score 88-90/100 · Drink 2006-2012, Pierre Rovani, Jun 2004

Medium to dark ruby-colored and sporting a nose of sweet black fruits, the satin-textured, medium-bodied 2002 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Chaignots is sweet, pleasing, and loaded with fruit. Copious quantities of blackberries, cassis, and black cherries can be found in its ripe, extroverted personality. Drink it between 2006 and 2012. Good full red. Musky red fruits and earth on the expressive nose. Supple, sweet and open, with notes of redcurrant and earth. Aromatic and fruity, with more middle to buffer its firm, dusty tannins. This should drink well early.

Nice! Lots of interest. Rich and full and round with an undertow of interest. Dry finish. Great start. (JR)
