The 2006 Termes is inky black with an enticing perfume of mineral, spice box, leather, and blackberry. Succulent, concentrated, and impeccably balanced, it has enough structure to blossom for another 2-3 years but can be approached now. Bodegas Numanthia-Termes was sold by the Eguren family to Moet-Hennessey prior to the 2006 vintage. What this might ultimately mean for quality or style of the wine remains to be seen but there is no questioning the performance of the 2006 and 2007 vintages. Importer: LVMH; www.lvmh.com

Deep ruby-red. Sexy aromas of dark berry preserves, cinnamon, clove, cured tobacco and anise. Round, fleshy, cherry-vanilla and dark chocolate flavors are enlivened by notes of baking spices and smoky minerals. Open-knit and gently sweet, displaying minimal tannins and finishing with very good lift and lingering chocolate and spice notes. This aged in 20% new French oak.
