The Ovide is a beast in need of taming, mixing accents of the Old World and the New. It's a blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% whole-cluster Syrah from Jack's Vineyard in the Rocks District.

The 2019 Ovide is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon but includes 21% Syrah, all from the Jack's Vineyard in Walla Walla. Brought up in 50% new French oak, it has a peppery, gamey, meaty style as well as impressive red and black fruits, medium to full body, a ripe, balanced, mouthfeel, and a great sense of freshness and purity. I like it today, but it has more than enough tannins and concentration to evolve for 10-12 years or more.
