2009 Ghost Block Cabernet Sauvignon Single Vineyard

Bright medium ruby. Very ripe aromas of blackberry, boysenberry, licorice and bitter chocolate verge on port-like, but a violet topnote provides lift. Suaver and more sharply delineated than the Oakville example, with the dark fruit flavors lifted by a mineral element and framed by harmonious acidity. A step up in class from the Oakville Cabernet, finishing with firm but well-managed tannins and subtle, rising dark berry length. An excellent showing.
