The 2013 Chardonnay Richard Dinner Vineyard comes from Sonoma Mountain and offers more baking spice, earthiness, oak and plenty of honey and richness. It is a top-notch success and less oaky than previous renditions have tended to be. Drink it over the next 4-7years.

The 2013 Chardonnay Richard Dinner Vineyard has come together nicely over the last year. Some of the angular contours that were present at the outset seem to have softened. Creamy, rich and expansive, the 2013 offers lovely up-front intensity and suppleness. The Richard Dinner was bottled earlier than the rest of the single-vineyard Chardonnays. Today, that decision manifests itself in a wine that feels like it may have gone into bottle not fully formed.

Sage, menthol, graphite and honey are some of the many notes that open up in the 2013 Chardonnay Richard Dinner Vineyard. This is a distinctly huge, explosive wine with a real sense of Pinot-like phenolic intensity and weight. Hints of game, smoke and graphite only add intrigue to a compelling Sonoma Mountain Chardonnay full of personality.
