Lemon-yellow color. Riper aromas of mirabelle, wet stone, spearmint and roasted oak; a bit higher-toned than the McCrea. Then sweet, lush and seamless but nicely framed by firm acids; in a rounder style but classically dry. Showing more oak spice on the lingering finish.

Huge, buttery, waxy, toasty caramel, and citrus oil aromas jump from the glass of the 2001 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch. Lavishly rich, exotic, and full-bodied, with loads of texture and density, this lusty, heady Chardonnay is one of the most forward Chardonnays in this portfolio. Consumption over the next 2-3 years is recommended. Tel. (707) 823-5603; Fax (707) 823-6709

About the producer

Kistler 1:1
Kistler

Kistler’s Chardonnays are some of the world’s most sought-after. This cult Californian producer crafts small volumes of exceptional, rich and generous, yet mineral and precise wines. With almost the entire production sold directly to their mailing list, the wines are also incredibly hard to find.
