Score 90/100 · Drink 2002-2010, Robert Parker, Aug 2002

The 2000 Pinot Noir Zio Tony Ranch (13.4% alcohol) is a beautiful, complex example made from all of the new French Dijon clones. It offers aromas of cherry liqueur, cola, plums, Asian spices, and earth. This dense, chewy, pure, and long offering should drink well for 7-8 years. Tel. (707) 525-0570; Fax (707) 525-9463

Dark red. Slightly dusty aromas of black cherry, tar, licorice and earth. Fat and rich but on the dry side, with an enticing smoky, earthy complexity. Finishes with broad, ripe tannins and good length.

About the producer

Martinelli

Martinelli is a Sonoma benchmark for vineyard-designate bottlings—wines built to highlight how strongly a single site can shape Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Across the range, the focus stays consistent: small-production bottlings that feel distinctly tied to where they’re grown.
