Medium red. Musky, reduced aromas of black raspberry and smoked meat. Then plush and sweet in the mouth, with red berry flavors enlivened by tobacco, iron and pungent spices. A rather exotic wine in an almost New World style, this could use a bit more definition. Finishes with a suggestion of incense.

Good deep red. Wild, expressive aromas of raspberry, redcurrant and smoked meat; slightly reduced. Supple, sweet and pure, if a bit less complex than the Suchots. But the finish shows precise red fruit flavors and a bit more definition and minerality than the Suchots, which had not yet been sulfited.
