Vivid ruby-red. Spice-accented raspberry, cherry and pungent flowers and herbs on the fragrant nose. Plush red and blue fruit and floral pastille flavors show surprising energy for their depth. Harmonious tannins frame a long, smooth finish that strongly echoes the floral and cherry notes.

20% Grenache Blanc, 20% Picpoul Blanc, 20% Bourboulenc, 20% Roussanne, 20% Clairette. Aged for six months in concrete and oak (5% new). Tasted blind. Butter is foremost on the palate, although tropical fruit is in abundance also. Fleshy and fat on the palate, without much refreshment. Reasonable persistence, though not much complexity. (RH)
