Bright red. Vibrant raspberry and cherry aromas are sharpened by zesty minerality. Fresh, fine-grained and juicy, with vivid strawberry and raspberry flavors, silky tannins and a long, seductive finish. There's something alluringly pinot-like about this.

The 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape Tradition is a good, straightforward, one-dimensional, soft effort that is best consumed during its first 4-5 years of life. Importer: Alain Junguenet, Wines of France, Mountainside, NJ; tel. (908) 654-6173

Light red. Ripe red berry aromas complemented by a suggestion of gingerbread. Lush, sweet flavors of strawberry and raspberry liqueur are already quite attractive, and silky tannins will not stand in the way of early consumption. Finishes juicy and long.
