Score 90/100 · Drink 2026-2032, Eric Guido, Vinous, Nov 2023

The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino is decidedly floral, with a bouquet of violets, lavender and incense giving way to mentholated blackberries and hints of pine. This is surprisingly juicy and round, with ripe red and black fruits elevated by sour citrus and inner cedar tones. This leaves a tinge of tart cranberry, just as a bump of residual acidity maintains freshness, all framed by a coating of fine tannins.
