The 2018 Lalaudey has a slightly smudged and rather greenish bouquet that suggests a couple of vats may not have achieved phenolic ripeness. The palate is medium-bodied with harsh and bitter tannins, and sweet and sour on the mouth-puckering finish. This simply is unripe.

Cru bourgeois supérieur.  59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc. Subdued, meaty but lifted and fresh. A graphite edge to the juicy palate but also a touch of green making it soupy and less defined. Like a note out of key. Dry finish. (JL)
