Score 92/100 · Drink 2014, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Feb 2014

Medium garnet-colored with a touch of brick, the 2001 RSW Shiraz displays a wonderfully evolved nose replete with notes of dried berry, figs and mulberries accented by sandalwood, plus meaty and gamey notes. Medium to full-bodied and rich in the mouth, the medium level of velvety tannins and lively acid backbone lend support to multiple layers of flavor and a long finish with Chinese five spice layers. Drink now. Importer: Negociants USA, Napa, CA

A dense ruby/purple color is accompanied by aromas of blackberries, licorice, and subtle underbrush/wood characteristics. Fleshy, rich, full-bodied, and pure, this substantial, corpulent, straightforward Shiraz should be drunk over the next 7-8 years. Importer: Wilson-Daniels, St. Helena, CA; tel. (707) 963-9661
