Bright red-ruby. Perfumed, spicy aromas of cassis, cherry, raspberry and flowers; fresher and more tangy than the Echezeaux. Juicy, vibrant and high-pitched, with tight, precise flavors framed by strong acidity. Finishes fairly tannic and long, with a hint of youthful austerity. I like this.

Very deep ruby color. This is the only wine to display a discreet touch of ago that complments the complex but reluctant aromas of spice, blackberry and cassis. The robust, muscular flavors have tightened up considerable in the last few years and while this stops short of being a bruiser, this is a big wine that clearly has more underlying material than the Echézeaux. Very classy and stylish because even though it's a very powerful wine, it is still elegant and harmonious. Allen Meadows, Burghound May15,2004
