Score 91/100 · Drink 2023-2043, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Feb 2025

The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti's 1993 Richebourg Grand Cru remains robust, even a little rustic, at age 31. Unwinding in the glass to reveal aromas of dark berries, spices and vestiges of toasty new oak, it's medium to full-bodied, dense and structured, sweetening and integrating with time in the glass to offer better integration and flesh than is immediately apparent. Its Romanée-Saint-Vivant counterpart makes for more flattering drinking today, but this does deliver plenty of pleasure if followed over a few hours.

Domaine de la Romanee-Conti

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti or simply “DRC” is without doubt the most famous domaine in Burgundy and one of the most famous producers on earth. The Grand Cru vineyard from which it takes its name produces the world’s most expensive wine by a long margin.
