Tasted blind. Muddy garnet. Hint of veg on the nose and rather overdone in the cellar. But you could enjoy this now. More serious than 3 (Pape Clément). (JR)

The 2015 Clarence Haut-Brion offers a dab of cough candy on the nose, with red fruit, kirsch and plum upfront. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and it coheres nicely in the glass. A touch of white pepper emerges toward the satisfyingly long finish. This is worth seeking out. Tasted blind at the 2015 Bordeaux Ten-Year-On tasting at Farr Vintners.

Grilled black fruits, strong liquorice bud, tar, grilled rosemary, good quality, kick on finish. Harvest September 8 to October 5, 35% new oak.

Tasted blind. Mid crimson. Slightly muddy, non-exhibitionistic nose. Fresh start and definitely Graves without being at all showy. (JR)
