Deeper ruby, the 2020 Pinot Noir Keefer Ranch has more of the classic depth that you come to expect from the Russian River Valley. It takes on a darker profile with a bit of smoky cedar, ripe cherry, and sassafras. Full-bodied, with rich structure, ripe tannins, and juicy fruit, it reveals noes of black raspberry, scorched earth, and tea leaf. It has a bit of a dustiness on the finish, but this is another solid wine in this challenging vintage.

The 2020 Pinot Noir Keefer Ranch was harvested September 10-15 and matured for 16 months in 43% new oak. It has a medium ruby color and a core of wild berry fruit with tones of tea leaves, lavender and woodsmoke. The medium-bodied palate is grainy and gently rustic with a moderate core of fruit, just enough freshness and a spicy finish. Drink it over the next 2-3 years.
This has some terra-cotta and wrought-iron character to the dried strawberries and cherries. Itâs full and clear, with firm tannins and orange peel and ash. Dark earth, too. Drink or hold.
