Score 92/100 · Drink 2025-2035, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Nov 2025

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Martha’s Vineyard is another super-expressive wine from Heitz Cellar. Red cherry fruit, sage, tobacco, menthol and bay leaf are very nicely delineated. Here, too, the edges are starting to fray a bit. The 2015 is delicate and has started losing some of its fruit, but it has enough balance to drink well for at least another few years, given the pedigree of this site. The 2015 spent three full years in French oak barrels of various sizes, ranging from 228-liter barrels to 12-HL casks.

Structured and powerful with chewy and firm tannins with a light vanilla and currant undertone. Full bodied. Juicy and savory. Luscious and intense yet polished. Tension, energy and wonderful length and brightness. Drinkable but needs another three to four years to come around.
