Score 88/100 · Robert Parker, Jan 1990

The Musigny-Vieilles Vignes (1,405 cases were made in 1988) is an excellent wine, but I feel it would have deserved greater concentration and length to merit an outstanding rating. It is the best wine in the Comte de Vogue's stable in 1988, and revealed an attractive medium ruby color, spicy, toasty oak, a fragrant, berry-scented bouquet, and supple, nicely balanced flavors. However, it did not seem exciting when compared to the finest wines of the vintage.
