Medium red. Explosive, wild aromas of raspberry, dark cherry, leather, game, iron and dried flowers. Then silky, pliant and compellingly rich for 2008, with superb density to the flavors of dark fruits, game, smoke and licorice. With aeration an element of rose oil perfumed the mouth. A wonderfully exotic expression of soil with a very long and powerful aftertaste. This may well merit a higher score with aging but it will need a good eight to ten years of patience.

Medium red. Meaty, rocky aromas lifted by exotic Asian spices; less high-pitched than the Latricieres. Then dense, sweet and large-scaled, but with strong acidity and firm minerality giving cut to the almost youthfully monolithic flavors. This combines high sweetness, high acidity and saline soil tones in a way that reminded me of a combination of Corton and Chambertin. Hervet describes this wine as "a block" today and does not expect to bottle it until March.
