Good full, bright red. Reduced, rather wild, gamey nose is just this side of rude. Sweet, dense and layered, with strong fruit complicated by licorice and menthol. Offers firm acidity for a young Clos Vougeot, or is this just less ripe than the last few samples? Finishes with rather tough tannins. This will rate a score toward the high end of my projected range if there's enough mid-palate stuffing to stand up to its tannins.
