The 2017 Viognier Kobler Family Vineyard is in the same ballpark, but shows a fresher, more focused profile. Bright tangerine, peach, honeysuckle, and white flower notes all flow to a seamless, medium to full-bodied Viognier that has good acidity, terrific balance, and a juiciness and saltiness that keep you salivating and coming back to the glass.

Donelan's 2017 Viognier Kobler Family Vineyard is a very pretty wine. Light tropical notes, exotic white flowers, mint, tangerine and honeysuckle are all laced together in a delicate, nuanced Viognier. A little more body would be nice, but the 2017 is an attractive wine to drink over the next handful of years.

Aged in neutral barrels for ten months, the 2017 Viognier Kobler Family Vineyard has a very pretty, very spicy nose—flowers, white pepper and exotic spice notes—over a core of fleshy white peaches, honeysuckle and a rocky vein. Medium to full-bodied, it's packed full of stone fruit and floral flavors but isn't heavy for one moment, lifted by juicy acidity and finishing fresh and clean. A sophisticated version of Viognier from California and a great success considering the fruit was harvested after the Labor Day heat wave. Bravo! 46 cases were made.
