This is one of those graceful Tuscan reds that will happily take a back seat to your favorite dishes, from plenty of pasta possibilities to any Tuscan game, from wild boar to rabbit. The Ca' di Pesa 2016 Chianti Classico reveals a light ruby-tinged appearance with delicate aromas of wild berry, raspberry, cassis and potting soil. This lean-bodied wine shows the kind of freshness and compact, tonic style that opens this wine up to a wide range of foods.

Greve in Chianti. 95% Sangiovese, 5% Colorino. Cask sample. Mid ruby with the first signs of development. Very perfumed nose and a supple and light cherry fruit palate that struggles a little with the tannic load. Better to drink this now. (WS)
