Sporting a deep garnet-purple color and nose of black currant cordial, dark chocolate and blackberry pie with hints of bay leaves, damp soil and pepper, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain is full and concentrated on the rich palate, with firm, grainy tannins and a lively backbone, finishing long and savory.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon barrel sample, a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Merlot looked impressive as well. Lush, open-knit and forward, with notes of blackcurrant, black cherry fruit, crushed rock, lavender and spice box. This front-end loaded, wonderfully seductive and round, juicy Cabernet Sauvignon will be drinkable when released and evolve for at least 20 or more years.
