This pulls you in with a beautiful array of mulberry, damson plum and black cherry notes, which have lushness combined with underlying tension. Shows ornate anise, rooibos tea and potpourri scrollwork along the edges, giving this superior range and detail. Very enticing now, but I want to see this age a bit. Medium to full-bodied, with a compact mid-palate, good tension, and fine tannins, its notes of ripe red cherry and brushy herbs make for a lovely, savory wine. Drink 2025-2040.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Terra de Promissio Vineyard comes from vines planted in 2002 and was matured for 15 months in 63% new oak. It's expressive and complex this vintage, offering layers of fruit, spice and earth. Pale ruby in the glass, the nose is bursting with scents of pomegranate, rhubarb and cranberry and wafts of rooibos tea leaves, licorice, tobacco and underbrush. Medium-bodied and harmoniously structured, the palate features concentrated, nuanced fruit and a very long finish with alluring streaks of spice. 752 cases were made.
