Pale ruby-purple, the 2017 Pinot Noir VGR has an incredibly intense, layered nose of cranberry sauce, warm blackberries and marionberries with touches of rose petals, tangerine, autumn leaves, fragrant earth, dust, warm tobacco leaf, sweet spices and saline. It’s light to medium-bodied and floods the mouth with earth-accented, sweet berry fruits, soft and finely grainy with a long, lifted finish. This is so lovely!

Very Good Red is the acronym here. This is a blend of parcels, fermented as hand-snipped, single berries in 500-liter amphorae. The intrinsically fragrant and gently tarry red cherries deliver a complex, youthful impression with assertively spicy oak. The palate has a wildly detailed, fresh and juicy array of rich, dark cherries and berries with such long and succulent, fine tannins. Really exceptional expression of Willamette pinot. Drink across the next decade.
