In addition to a bevy of terrific Chardonnays and a single-vineyard Viognier, this estate also makes a great Viognier/Roussanne blend from the Sonoma Coast. The 2018 Venus offers a lighter gold hue as well as a classic Roussanne-driven nose of buttered stone fruits, white flowers, and honeyed minerality. It’s another rich, nicely textured, medium-bodied white from this team that delivers an incredible, racy spine of acidity running through the wine. Drink this beautiful effort any time over the coming 7-8 years.

The 2018 Venus, made from Roussanne with a 5% addition of Viognier, has understated aromas of honey, nuts, dried hay and a wooly note. The palate is medium-bodied with a rounded, silky texture and bright, tangy fruits, finishing with yeasty uplift. 240 cases were made.

The 2018 Venus, Donelan's Roussanne/Viognier blend, is another gorgeous wine in this range. Apricot, orange peel, dried flowers, chamomile and lightly honeyed notes all grace this super-expressive wine. The predominance of Roussanne is felt in the wine's oiliness and textural feel.
