(100% barrel-fermented): Bright yellow. Lemon drop, floral honey, bay leaf, wild herbs, coconut and sexy spices on the nose. Fat and sweet in the mouth but with lovely framing energy to the flavors of pineapple, lemon and wild herbs. A broad but energetic sauvignon, finishing suave and long and not phenolic. I like this!

Score 93/100 · Drink 2010-2014, Robert Parker, Dec 2010

The 2009 Sauvignon Blanc Vineyard 29 offers up exquisite aromas of lemon zest, nectarines, melons, flint and a hint of background spice. With terrific fruit on the attack, mid-palate and finish as well as a freshness and laser-like precision that is remarkable, this beautiful white should drink well for 2-4 years. I believe these special cuvees are only available from the winery’s mailing list. Proprietors Chuck and Ann McMinn have added another wine to their portfolio of Cru wines. The Cru offerings, which are made from purchased fruit, are meant to be stylish Napa Valley wines that sell for reasonable prices. Presumably, they are aimed at both consumers and restaurants looking for a very good Napa wine that won’t break the bank. Tel. (707) 963-9292; Fax (707) 963-7848
