Score 93/100 · Drink 2020-2030, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Dec 2019

Medium ruby-purple, the nose of the 2017 Pinot Noir Coopersmith gives up oodles of violet and lilac perfume with savory notions of olive, prosciutto, crushed black cherries and red berry sparks. It’s medium-bodied and intense with perfumed flavor layers opening in the mouth, firmly framed by grainy tannins and juicy acidity, finishing long and perfumed. This just needs some more time in bottle. 730 cases were made.

From another Russian River site, the 2017 Pinot Noir Coopersmith is another deep ruby/purple-hued Pinot Noir from this estate, and it offers up exotic notes of red plums, cranberries, spring flowers, and candied citrus. Juicy, more medium-bodied, and elegant, with good acidity, as well as balance, drink it over the coming 7-8 years.
