Score 86/100 · Drink 2015-2018, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2015

The 1996 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru les Amoureuses has a fresher nose than the 2003: baked cherries, soy, mushroom -- a little rustic but there is clean fruit here and no volatility. The palate is medium-bodied with quite sharp tannin, a little abrasive even after almost 20 years. It is quite masculine in the mouth with some severity on the dry and rather rusty finish. Drink now.
