Score 93/100 · Audrey Frick, jebdunnuck.com, Jul 2023

Pouring a youthful golden hue, the 2021 Chardonnay Heintz Vineyard has a lightly sunny feel, with dusty earth, fresh green pineapple, and white grapefruit. It’s medium to full bodied and well-focused, with fresh acidity, good drive, and a mineral texture, and it’s well-balanced with a bit of a toasted smoky feel on the finish. Drink it over the next 10 years.

The 2021 Chardonnay Heintz Vineyard comes from vines planted in 1980 and was matured for 13 months. It has very pretty aromas of lemon candy, white peach, jasmine and beeswax with wafts of matchstick. The medium-bodied palate offers ripe yet understated fruits driven by mouthwatering acidity and flinty tones, and it has a long finish with exotic, tropical touches. Generous yet refreshing, enjoy it over the next 5-7+ years. 416 cases were made.
