Score 90/100 · Drink 2010-2016, Robert Parker, Feb 2010

Sweet cherry and Christmas spice-like scents soar from the glass of the fragrant, dark ruby-hued 2007 Pinot Noir Akiko’s Cuvee. With abundant fruit and elegance as well as medium body and a distinctive earthy, smoky, kirsch-like character, this wine should drink well for 5-6 years. One of the largest fruit components for the Chardonnay comes from the Keefer Ranch in the Russian River, and they also produce a single vineyard Pinot Noir from that site. Tel. (707) 823-6937

Vivid red. Ripe red and dark berry aromas are complicated by sassafras, licorice and dried rose. Pliant dark berry flavors stain the palate, with musky herbal and cola low notes adding complexity. The finish repeats the cola and rose elements and lingers impressively. This wine, which is made from mostly Dijon clones and a selection of barrels, comes from nine different vineyards.
