Dark ruby/purple-tinged with high acid and a sour cherry/pomegranate-like style is the 2005 Pinot Noir Bucher Vineyard. It does offer an earthy component, but it pushes acid levels to the brink of excess. Tel. (707) 433-6425; Fax (707) 433-6546

Medium red. Very elegant on the nose, with lively raspberry and wild strawberry aromas underpinned by zesty mineral and white flower notes. Round and silky on the palate, showing a deep, almost jammy raspberry quality and very gentle tannins. Finishes with excellent flavor expansion and length, leaving behind an almost sappy red fruit impression.
