Moderately saturated medium-red. Quite unforthcoming on the nose. Strong redcurrant, tobacco and oak flavors are surprisingly expressive; not as ripe as the '98 Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin Cazatiers, but already offers enticing inner-mouth aromas. Then rather substantial, slightly drying tannins on the finish. Not at all a feminine style of Echezeaux.
