(85% roussanne and 15% viognier; barrel-fermented and aged on its lees; full malolactic fermentation) Medium yellow. Exotic fruits and honey on the nose. Rich and chewy, with an edge of acidity framing the yellow fruit, honey and nut flavors. Quite dry on the end and not yet expressing itself.

The limited production 2004 The White Coat, a blend of 60% Roussanne, 20% Viognier, and 20% other grapes, all from the Alban Vineyard, is an elegant, light gold-colored effort revealing hints of rose petals, tea, sweet white currants, and buttery citrus. This intriguing white will be even better with food. Tel. (707) 963-0940; Fax (707) 963-8683
