A ripe ruby color, the 2021 Pinot Noir Champ De Mars is from a few different blocks and offers deeper, more expressive notes of licorice, fresh black cherries, and a hint of pepper spice. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied but a bit broader shouldered, with refined ripe tannins and a long finish. This fantastic red is going to show its best over the next 15 or more years.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Champ de Mars is endowed with gorgeous inner perfume and generous, bold dark fruit notes. Plush and creamy, with fabulous persistence, the Champ de Mars is a fine example of the Dehlinger house style. The 2021 spent 18 months in French oak, about 50% new. Bright acids on the finish offer a fine counterpoint to the wine's inherent richness.
