Score 92/100 · Drink 2019-2022, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, May 2019

Littorai's 2007 Pinot Noir Roman Vineyard is laced with hard candy, tobacco, mint, dried flowers and leather. Aromatically complex and juicy, this mid-weight Pinot has aged nicely and has enough depth to drink well for another few years.

Moderately saturated medium red. Strawberry, mocha and musky brown spices on the rather low-pitched nose. Then dense and sweet in the mouth, with good richness and texture to the raspberry, brown spice and underbrush flavors. More aromatic in the mouth than the nose would suggest, but this tactile, chewy wine is classically dry and backward today. Finishes with plenty of tannins and excellent persistence. Lemon notes that the 2007 pinots have "sneaky tannins."
