Score 89/100 · Drink 2002-2012, Robert Parker, Jun 2002

The 1999 Cabernet Franc, a blend of 90% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, made by veteran winemaker Pam Starr (her resume includes stints at Sonoma-Cutrer, Carmenet, and Spottswoode), is an elegant, perfumed St.-Emlion-styled wine with a deep ruby/purple color as well as complex aromas of herbs, black currants, and flowers. It is medium-bodied, with a deep center and sweet tannin in the stylish, long, finish. It will drink well for a decade. Tel. (707) 252-1851

Bright, deep red-ruby. Cool, slightly high-toned aromas of currant, violet and tobacco leaf. Juicy and sappy, with notes of dark chocolate and fresh herbs. On the lean side, but the wine's firm acidity and solid flavor intensity should work well with food.
