2016 Dakota Shy Cabernet Franc Oakville Ranch Vineyard

The 2016 Cabernet Franc Oakville Ranch Vineyard is elegant, sensual and polished, qualities that very few winemakers seem to be interested in exploring at this large ranch, where the wines often lean towards opulence alone. Floral aromatics, silky tannins and inviting dark cherry/plum fruit are some of the signatures. Time in the glass brings out hints of rose petal, mint and raspberry. Quite frankly, Dakota Shy's 2016 is a revelation, as it shows a side of Oakville Ranch I have rarely seen in the past. I imagine that goes for most readers as well.
