Exceptionally tough and rigid. Very low on charm. Correct but no warmth. May get there. (JR)

Score 90/100 · Drink 2005-2015, Robert Parker, Apr 2003

This opaque ruby/purple-colored 2000 exhibits plenty of earthy, black currant, vanilla, graphite, licorice, and smoky cherry aromas as well as flavors. Medium-bodied with sweet tannin, good acidity, and a long, concentrated finish, this is the finest La Louviere since the 1990. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2015.

Square la Louviere
La Louviere

Wine has been made at this estate since the 1300s, but its modern history begins when the Lurton family purchased it in 1965. The property was in disrepair, but the Lurtons have restored the château, winery and vineyards.
